About
Plague Map 2026 is an independent, source-driven overview of reported plague cases and investigations around the world.
Why this exists
Breaking health stories can travel faster than the context needed to understand them. This project brings the location, status, and original reporting for each event into one calm, readable view. Its purpose is to help readers distinguish a confirmed case from a suspected or disputed report without sensationalizing a rare but serious disease.
How we work
Updates are added manually after reviewing reputable reporting and available statements from health authorities. Each item links to its source. We use plain-language labels, mark locations approximately, and revise entries when stronger evidence becomes available.
The map is not an official disease-surveillance system, a substitute for local public-health guidance, or medical advice. Counts reflect the reports included here and may not represent every case worldwide.
